Het deelgebied Wörblitz ligt ten noordwesten van de stad Dommitzsch in de Elbeniederung, westelijk van de rivier aan de Bundesstraße 182. De zone bevindt zich in de uiterwaarden op slibgrond, die meestal als weilanden en graslanden worden gebruikt. De gebieden buiten de uiterwaarden bevinden zich meestal op zandgrond.
In 992 werd de nederzetting Wirbilendorf voor het eerst schriftelijk genoemd. In 1560 werd het dorp al Werblitz genoemd, wat ook in 1791 zo werd genoemd. Nu is het dorp Wörblitz een straatdorp en de boeren bewerkten in 1895 in totaal 412 hectare land in de dijk en daarbuiten. Het inwoneraantal steeg van 21 personen in 1748 naar 287 in 1910 en 725 in 1999.
