Het kasteel Alte Falkenstein, ook wel Alt-Falkenstein genoemd, in de Harz is een kasteelruïne van een hoogmiddeleeuws hoogkasteel in het stadsgebied van Falkenstein/Harz in de Saksen-Anhaltse Landkreis Harz. Het werd gebouwd in de 11e eeuw en werd in 1115 verwoest.
De kasteelruïne Alte Falkenstein bevindt zich in het oostelijke deel van de Harz, in het Mansfelder Land, tussen Mägdesprung en Meisdorf, op een heuvelrug boven het dal van de Selke. In het bosrijke landschap van het natuurpark Harz/Saksen-Anhalt ligt het in het natuurreservaat Selketal, ongeveer 1,25 kilometer ten noordwesten van de nabijgelegen Köhlerhütte, die zich aan de Kreisstraße 1344 vlakbij Pansfelde bevindt. Van daaruit komt men via bospaden over de maximaal 364,2 m boven NHN hoge Hirschplatte bij de kasteelruïne.
