Description

De historische spoorbrug bij Wesel werd tussen 1872 en 1874 gebouwd door de Cöln-Mindener Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (CME) als onderdeel van de Hamburg-Venloer spoorlijn en was gedurende zijn bestaan de noordelijkste Rijnbrug in Duitsland. Vanaf 1917 was er in de buurt van de spoorbrug een extra verkeersbrug, totdat beide bruggen tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog werden verwoest. Alleen de verkeersbrug werd vervolgens herbouwd.
