El Caminito del Rey of het pad van de Koning is een smal bergpad of via ferrata dat langs de steile wanden van een smalle kloof in El Chorro loopt. De oorsprong van dit pad begint in 1901. Toen werd duidelijk dat de werknemers op de hydro-elektrische centrales van de Chorro Falls en Gaitanejo Falls een pad nodig hadden om zich tussen de watervallen te bewegen, en om het transport van materialen mogelijk te maken. De bouw van het pad duurde vier jaar en het was voltooid in 1905. De verwijzing naar het pad van de koning dateert van 1921. In dat jaar wandelde koning Alfonso XIII via dit pad naar de inauguratie van de dam Conde del Guadalhorce en het pad werd bekend onder zijn huidige naam.
