Het strand van Santiago de Deva ligt aan de rechteroever van de estuarium van de Deva-rivier en maakt deel uit van de stad met dezelfde naam die behoort tot de provincie Guipúzcoa, Baskenland. Het is gescheiden van het estuarium van de Deva-rivier door een kunstmatige pier van rotsen. Het zand is donker van kleur, afkomstig van de leisteenrotsen van de omliggende bergen, een kenmerk dat het deelt met het aangrenzende strand van Hondar Beltz, dat aan de andere oever van het estuarium ligt en behoort tot Motrico, wiens naam zwarte zand betekent in het Spaans.
