Het Geriatrisch Verblijf in Maó werd in 1738 gebouwd door de Engelsen, die een nieuw liefdadigheidshospitaal wilden oprichten aan de Cós de Gràcia, met een oratorium gewijd aan de Goede Herder. Dit gebouw werd onderhouden met geld uit erfenissen en donaties. Dit gebouw was al gebouwd op een middeleeuws ziekenhuis dat zieke en behoeftige mensen opving.
