Het kasteel van Santa Ana is een fort dat ligt op een rotsachtig promontorium in Castro-Urdiales, op een schiereiland waar ook de versterkte kerk van Santa María de la Asunción is, de ruïnes van een andere eerdere kerk en de hermitage van Santa Ana, die is gebouwd als een uitkijktoren, verbonden met het kasteel via een brug. Het complex heeft zeer goed uitzicht op de zee, de haven en de stad. In 1853 werd er binnen het omheinde gebied een vuurtoren gebouwd, waarvan de machine de kapel bezette. Het is een van de best bewaarde kastelen in noord-Spanje.
