In 1906 arriveerde Pablo Picasso met de stoomtrein op het station van Guardiola de Berguedà. Van daar volgde hij de koninklijke weg naar Montclar, waar hij een zomer verbleef. Tijdens dit verblijf schilderde hij enkele van zijn bekendste schilderijen.
Tegenwoordig is de koninklijke weg die Picasso van Guardiola naar Bellver de Cerdanya nam hersteld. Met zijn verblijf in Montclar vinden we tegenwoordig een interpretatiecentrum gewijd aan zijn figuur.
