De Slag bij Alcañiz resulteerde op 23 mei 1809 in de nederlaag van het Franse leger van majoor-generaal Louis Gabriel Suchet door een Spaanse strijdmacht onder generaal Joaquín Blake y Joyes.
De overwinning wordt toegeschreven aan het voortreffelijke commando van de Spaanse artillerie door generaal Martín García-Loygorri, wat de Franse kolonnes in staat stelde om zich te sluiten en hen vervolgens met goed gerichte salven zwaar te verzwakken. Loygorri werd later gepromoveerd tot veldmaarschalk en werd de eerste artillerieofficier ooit die het Laureaatkruis van Sint Ferdinand ontving.
