De hypocaust is een verwarmingssysteem dat gebruikt werd in de Gallo-Romeinse termen dat zich bevindt in een kelder van de rue Saint Maur van Bavay, de voormalige hoofdstad van het Nervische Rijk. Deze verwarmingsinstallatie dateert uit de 1e eeuw van onze tijdrekening en werd in 1953 ontdekt door priester Henri BIevelet.
