Murbach en andere abdijen bezaten daar wijngaarden.
De graven van "Wurtemberg - Montbeliard" waren de eigenaren van de 14e eeuw tot de
Revolutie.
Echter, het dorp was afhankelijk van de heerlijkheid van Riquewihr.
Het kende donkere momenten tijdens de zware gevechten van de "Poche de Colmar" en was in 1945 bijna volledig vernietigd. Het is sindsdien herbouwd.
