Deze prachtige residentie, geklasseerd als Historisch Monument, ligt midden op de Place de la Croix Blanche in Mauléon en is een bijzonder interessant voorbeeld van vroeg 17e-eeuwse architectuur in het grote zuidwesten. Het werd gebouwd in de jaren 1600 door de Mauléon man Arnaud de Maytie. Dit kasteel wordt nog steeds bewoond door de afstammelingen van de familie de Maytie, die drie bisschoppen schonken aan het bisdom Oloron.
In het kasteel kan men prachtige gebeeldhouwde schouwen en mooi meubilair bewonderen. In de bibliotheek kan de bezoeker enkele eerbiedwaardige boeken uit de 16e en 17e eeuw bekijken
Op zolder ontdekt men een raamwerk dat lijkt op een omgeslagen scheepsromp.
