Het Pays de Bitche telt een tiental veenplassen, waarvan de meeste beschermd zijn vanwege de uitzonderlijke flora die ze bevatten. Bij de vijver van Hanau is in de zomer van 2018 een volledig gerenoveerd pad aangelegd op vlonders en gemarkeerd met verklarende panelen om de zeldzaamheid en kwetsbaarheid van deze natuurlijke omgeving te helpen begrijpen. Van mei tot september kunt u vleesetende planten, allerlei soorten veenbessen en sierlijke libellen observeren. Het pad gaat verder in het bos met de ontdekking van de belangrijkste lokale bomen.
