El Pays de Bitche cuenta con una decena de estanques de turba, la mayoría de los cuales están protegidos por la excepcional flora que contienen. En el estanque de Hanau, un sendero totalmente renovado durante el verano de 2018, está trazado sobre tableros de pato y marcado con paneles explicativos para ayudar a comprender la rareza y la fragilidad de este entorno natural. De mayo a septiembre, se pueden observar plantas carnívoras, todo tipo de arándanos y gráciles libélulas. El sendero continúa en el bosque con el descubrimiento de los principales árboles locales.
