Het vakwerkhuis was vroeger een winkel op de begane grond. Een Latijnse inscriptie op de gevel, gedateerd 1362, verwijst naar de fundering van een eerder gebouw, dat bij een verbouwing van het huidige complex opnieuw werd gebruikt. Er staat: "Anno domini MCCCLXII haec domus fundata est feria VI ante invocabit" (in het jaar des Heren 1362 werd dit huis gesticht op de vrijdag voor "Invocabit", d.w.z. Passiezondag). De overhangende bovenverdieping is een 17e eeuwse toevoeging met vakwerk en gesneden hoekstijlen.
