Les Albums du Père Castor werden vanaf 1931 gecreëerd en geregisseerd door Paul Faucher. Ze zijn vertaald in vele talen en zijn het resultaat van samenwerking tussen kunstenaars, illustratoren, auteurs en leraren. Tot op de dag van vandaag is deze collectie een van de bestsellers in de kinderliteratuur. Vanaf zijn begin als boekhandelaar bij Flammarion in 1921 tot de productie en distributie van de Père Castor albumcollectie, heeft Paul Faucher zijn archieven methodisch opgebouwd en verzameld tot aan zijn dood in 1967. Sinds 2017 zijn de archieven opgenomen in het Memory of the World-register van UNESCO, een programma voor de bescherming van documentair erfgoed. De archieven kunnen op afspraak worden geraadpleegd tijdens openingstijden in het Maison du Père Castor in Meuzac.
