Ispagnac, tussen de Cevennen en de Gorges du Tarn, ligt in een vallei met de bijnaam "de tuin van Lozère". In deze vallei, met fruitbomen en zonnige hellingen, komen de drie moedergesteenten van de Lozère samen (kalksteen, schist en graniet).
Mensen hebben deze rotsen sinds de ijzertijd bewerkt en ons een erfgoed nagelaten dat de tand des tijds heeft doorstaan. In de Vallon d'Ispagnac staan de menhirs op de dorpshoogten naast de 12e-eeuwse Romaanse kerk Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul in de oude stad. En natuurlijk stroomt de magische rivier de Tarn door de vallei.
