Het Centre d'Art Contemporain Photographique werd in 2013 opgericht in de Villa Pérochon, het familiehuis van de schrijver Ernest Pérochon, de eerste winnaar van de Goncourtprijs uit de Deux-Sèvres. Het is een van de 6 Franse centra voor fotografische kunst die in 2011 door het Ministerie van Cultuur zijn aangewezen en de enige in het Grote Westen, van Bordeaux tot Nantes en van La Rochelle tot Limoges. De artistieke leiding is toevertrouwd aan "Pour l'Instant", de organisator van de Rencontres de la jeune photographie internationale, de hoeksteen van het jaarprogramma van de vereniging, dat in 2007 als van algemeen belang werd erkend. Het CACP bestaat uit een tuin, een galerie van 120 m2 met 100 strekkende meter hangruimte (een permanente plaats voor creatie en tentoonstelling) en een kunstenaarsresidentie.
