Het washuis en de fontein van St Jean bij de ingang van het dorp hebben hun oorspronkelijke staat behouden. De bron is gemaakt van geslepen graniet. Er staat een kruis om ons te herinneren aan het heilige karakter van de plek. De fontein heeft de reputatie nooit te bevriezen of droog te lopen. Naast de fontein staan de drinkbak en het washuis, die samen een hydraulisch complex vormen met een precieze indeling. De fontein bevindt zich altijd stroomopwaarts van of apart van de andere elementen om zijn zuiverheid te bewaren. De fontein is een essentieel herkenningspunt in het dorp en symboliseert de gelijke toegang tot een van de kostbaarste goederen: water.
