De A684 is een A-weg die door Cumbria en North Yorkshire loopt, beginnend in Kendal, Cumbria en eindigend bij Ellerbeck en de A19-weg in North Yorkshire. Het doorkruist de volle breedte van de Yorkshire Dales, passant Garsdale en de volledige lengte van Wensleydale.
Overstromingen kunnen een probleem zijn na zware regen, vooral bij Appersett, dichtbij Hawes, en zware sneeuw kan de weg tijdelijk afsluiten bij de Black Horse-heuvel en in Garsdale.
