De Bala-breek is een geologische breuk die van zuidwest naar noordoost in Wales loopt en offshore in de Cardigan Bay uitbreidt. In het offshoregebied is het een belangrijke normale breuk en vormt het de begrenzende structuur van het Cardigan Bay-bekken, met een vul die ongeveer 2.500 meter van de Lias-groep omvat. Op het land is het verantwoordelijk voor het lijnaspect dat door Bala en ten zuiden van Cadair Idris naar de kust bij Tywyn loopt. Aan het noordwestelijke uiteinde linkt het aan de vergelijkbaar georiënteerde Llanelidan-breek.
