De Koninklijke Marine Academie was een instelling die in 1733 werd opgericht in de Portsmouth Dockyard om officieren voor de Koninklijke Marine op te leiden. De bedoelingen van de oprichters waren om een alternatief middel te bieden om officieren te rekruteren en om gestandaardiseerde training, onderwijs en toelating te bieden. In 1806 werd het hernoemd tot de Koninklijke Marine Hogeschool en in 1816 werd het de Koninklijke Marine Hogeschool en de School voor Scheepsbouwkunde. Het werd in 1837 gesloten als opleidingsinstelling voor officierstoetreders.
