Gelegen tussen Lough Glore en Lough Lene, en Lough Ban, Ierland, domineert de Hill of Ben de vallei waar de Fore abdij werd gebouwd door De Lacy van de familie Lord of Meath voor de Franse benedictijnenmonniken. Het rijst steil op tussen de andere omliggende heuvels die zich verweven met de vele loughs van Westmeath. Lokale legende vertelt dat de opvolger van Sint Patrick, genaamd Benigne, van de heuvel zou hebben gepreekt om het evangelie naar de lokale gemeenschappen te brengen.
