Brennerpas

De Brennerpas (in het Duits: Brennerpass, in het Italiaans: Passo del Brennero) scheidt Oostenrijk van Italië. Op 1.372 m boven de zeespiegel is het de laagste en meest bezochte doorgang tussen het noorden en het zuiden van de Alpen en de enige die door een openluchtspoorlijn passeert. Het wordt ook doorkruist door de Europese snelweg 45 via de tolweg A13 geopend op 17 november 1963 in Oostenrijk en de snelweg A22 in Italië.

De aanleg van de snelweg begon in 1957 en bij deze gelegenheid werd de Europabrücke gebouwd, die tot 1974 de hoogste brug van Europa met 190 m hoog was.
