Le Marche zijn een Italiaanse regio met een gewoon statuut in het midden van Italië, met 1.485.960 inwoners en de hoofdstad Ancona, die naar het oosten uitkijkt op de Adriatische Zee. Het Umbrisch-Marchigian Appennijn markeert aan de westkant de grens met Toscane en Umbrië; in het noorden grenst de regio aan Emilia-Romagna en de Republiek San Marino, in het zuiden aan Abruzzo en Lazio. Ze maken deel uit van de Euroregio Adriatisch-Ionisch waarvan het forum het secretariaat in Ancona heeft.
