Gameren is een dorp in de Nederlandse gemeente Zaltbommel in de Nederlandse provincie Gelderland. Het dorp ligt vlak bij Zaltbommel en ligt langs de Waal. Het was een zelfstandige gemeente tot het in 1955 bij Kerkwijk werd gevoegd. Het dorp telde 3.000 inwoners op 1 januari 2021.Gameren ontstond op een stroomrug langs de Waal. In 1031 werd de plaats voor het eerst vermeld. Er ontstond een langgerekt esdorp. In de 14e eeuw werd de Waalbandijk aangelegd. Gameren ontwikkelde zich sindsdien ook noordwaarts in de richting van deze dijk.
