De Epenerbaan is een lange weg door het hoog gelegen Vijlener Bos. Vanuit Epen klim je naar de Epenerbaan via de bekende helling de Camerig. Vanuit Vaals kies je de Eschberg. In de Rode Lus van Hago Limburgs Mooiste 2020 is deze laatste optie van toepassing. Met nog een kleine verrassing: de lange bocht aan het begin van de klim wordt afgekort door een zeer steil stuk dat langs het restaurant Lodge 7 loopt. Een korte beproeving van 18% . De wat mindere klimmers kiezen de ruime bocht die niet verder gaat dan 6%.
