Aan de linkerkant zie een geel pand: Huize Zocher. De geschiedenis van Huize Zocher begint in 1865, toen architect J. van Ek het neoclassicistische rijksmonument ontwierp. Een opvallend kenmerk van Huize Zocher is de bouwstijl, die tussen 1864 en 1870 resulteerde in elf villa’s op de bolwerken van het Prinsen Bolwerk in Haarlem. Oorspronkelijk bedoeld als woning in 1865, werd het gebouw al snel gebruikt als noodhospitaal en kreeg rond 1930 de functie van school. Tegenwoordig doet het huis dienst als verzorgingshuis.
