De kapel van São Miguel-o-Anjocis weinig bekend bij de inwoners van Braga en werd oorspronkelijk gebouwd tussen Carvalheiras en Campo das Hortas, maar werd in het laatste kwart van de 19e eeuw ontmanteld en verplaatst naar de huidige locatie, samen met de altaarstukken van André Soares.
Deze kapel was van oudsher de plaats waar de aartsbisschoppen werden gekleed om hun plechtige intrede te doen in de kathedraal van Braga.
