Het Monument voor de Kantwerkster van Vila do Conde is een eerbetoon aan de vrouwen van Vila do Conde die de kunst van het kantklossen eeuwenlang hebben voortgezet.
Het monument is ontworpen door Ilídio Fontes en Cláudio Ricca en werd op 7 november 1993 ingehuldigd.
De kantwerkster weeft met de hand fijn kant. Klossen is erg populair geworden in Portugal, vooral in de kustgebieden, beginnend in het noordelijke gebied Caminha en eindigend in de zonnige stad Olhão. Nergens is het echter zo populair geworden als in de gemeenten Vila do Conde en Peniche.
In de stad bevindt zich ook een museum waar het grootste kantkloswerk ter wereld te vinden is.
