De Saint James General Store is een algemene winkel gelegen op de noordwestelijke hoek van Moriches en Harbor Hill Roads in Saint James, New York. Opgericht in 1857, is het een bijdragend pand van het Saint James District, dat zich voornamelijk in de buurt van New York State Route 25A in St. James bevindt, hoewel de winkel ten noordwesten van Route 25A is gelegen.
Begin jaren 1840 zocht Ebenezer Smith, een afstammeling van Richard "Bull" Smith, de oprichter van de Town of Smithtown, avontuur tijdens een handelsexpeditie westelijk van de Mississippi River Valley met zowel witte kolonisten als inheemse Amerikanen. Toen hij hoorde over de Californische Gold Rush, vertrok Smith verder naar het westen in een poging om zijn fortuin uit te breiden.
