És el molí més antic de la ciutat. Va ser construït abans del segle XVI i va haver de ser canviat de lloc. Al principi se situava a prop de la fortalesa però es va traslladar ja que l’accés de Havenkanaal va ser tallat per protegir la ciutat, per això encara queden algunes restes de muralla prop del molí. Anant en direcció al port. Al 1621, a la part oest del molí es va construir un bastió anomenat blau, i a la part est el taronja que va ser completat al 1652, aquestes eren dues peces arquitectòniques de protecció de la ciutat.
