Die MAYETs, eine alte Familie, deren Ursprung bis ins 16. Jahrhundert zurückreicht, waren zu dieser Zeit Kathedralenbauer aus Zentralfrankreich.
Sie ließen sich 1852 im Südwesten Frankreichs auf landwirtschaftlichen Flächen nieder, wo sie Mischkultur betrieben.
Im Jahr 1971 wurden die ersten Flaschen der Domaine du Bois de Pourquié produziert und nach und nach wandte sich der Familienbetrieb ausschließlich der Weinproduktion zu, bis er heute eine Fläche von 30 ha erreicht hat.
