Het huidige kasteel, het laatste van een serie die op dezelfde site gebouwd werden sinds 1425. Tijdens de 16de en 17de eeuw was het een belangrijk bolwerk van de O'Briens. het is voornamelijk ingericht met 15de en 16de eeuws meubilair uit de periode van 'the Great Earl'. het hoofdgebouw heeft drie verdiepingen die elk bestaan uit één grote kamer of hal.De vier torens hebben elk zes verdiepingen. Men kan het kasteel binnentreden door een ophaalbrug naar de hoofdwacht.
