Den store stammeomkreds af denne langsomt voksende art antyder allerede en betragtelig alder, muligvis mere end hundrede år. Det var tidligere praksis at klippe buksbom, men intet vidner længere om denne pleje. Buksbommen her er et lille træ med en frit voksende krone.
