Auberge le barbeau

Auberge le barbeau is a pleasant place to eat and drink at the church in Sippenaeken.

The sheltered courtyard is the ideal place to enjoy the first rays of sunshine outside in spring and a delicious lunch of course. On the sun-drenched terrace on the square you imagine yourself in France in the summer, delicious with a cool drink. And in the autumn maybe sit outside for a while or else comfortably inside with a nice cup of soup, for example.

In winter it is cozy and cozy dining in front of a crackling fire.

The dishes change with the seasons. They are always pure, original, tasty and prepared with loving attention.

Le Barbeau means...
Le Barbeau is French for "the cornflower" . The cornflower has become rare and here in Wallonia this beautiful blue-purple flower is even officially listed as "endangered". Fortunately, you can occasionally encounter it in the fields in our area.
When they opened our Auberge in 1995, they didn't have to think twice about the name. A French name in Wallonia was not only practical, but also beautiful. And isn't the free translation of "barbeau" "cozy café"?
It was certain that the Auberge would become something special and graceful, just like the wild cornflower.
Here in Sippenaeken they still spoil their guests as usual with a well- stocked dinner, a good glass of wine or a typical Belgian beer. All this for a sympathetic price. Hedonists have come to the right place here!...
