At the New Belgica wharf, the non-profit organization De Steenschuit is building a seaworthy replica of the 'Belgica'. On board this historic three-masted ship, the Belgian explorer Adrien De Gerlache undertook the first expedition to Antarctica in 1897. As a visitor, you can enter the ship under construction. This way, you are immersed in the atmosphere on board during the very first South Pole expedition.
Group visits: every day by reservation through Tourism Rupelstreek.
