El nombre 'de Klot' se refiere a un trozo, un bulto de turba o turf. Entre los años 1250 y 1750, aquí se extrajo turba a casi escala industrial.
La turba se transportaba a Roosendaal, Bergen-op-Zoom, Amberes.
Además, los planes de la Primera Guerra Mundial muestran que a la altura de la torre también corría el Doodendraad.
En el marco de las numerosas conmemoraciones, también se puede admirar una reconstrucción de este cable a los pies de la torre.
La foto con el Klot blanco es aún una foto antigua, la torre ha sido renovada en 2024.
