Die Laterne stammt aus dem 13. Jahrhundert und wurde ursprünglich auf dem Friedhof neben der Kirche aufgestellt. Im Jahr 1811 wurde sie auf den heutigen Platz versetzt. Sie ist 5,5 m hoch, rechteckig, aus gut verarbeiteten Granitsteinen gebaut, pyramidenförmig abgeschrägt und hat an der Oberseite auf jeder Seite eine kleine Rundbogenöffnung. Die Westseite trägt einen vorspringenden Altartisch. An der Ostseite befindet sich die Öffnung, durch die die Laterne eingeführt wurde, die mit einem Flaschenzug hochgezogen wurde. Zwei Schritte weiter befindet sich ein Orientierungstisch, an dem man das Panorama der Berge des Limousin und der Auvergne entschlüsseln kann. Bei gutem Wetter kann man so sechs Departements entdecken... und den Puy de Sancy erblicken!
