In 2008, workers were excavating Ground Zero and discovered a huge pothole. That pothole was carved out in the bedrock and had nothing to do with the building or the collapse of the building related to 9-11. The source of this huge pothole was caused by a glacier more than 10,000 years ago. The last ice age started about 120,000 years ago. The glacier was about 3 km thick and the edge reached Manhattan. When the ice age was coming to an end at about 20,000 years ago, huge amount of melting water carrying debris was flooding down the glacier and hitting the bedrock. This creates at specific point 'Gletschertopfs' or 'Giant's kettles'.
