La cruz de Ludvina fue erigida en 1782 en el bosque belga de Brakel en memoria de Ludvina Bruggelinck, una chica de 21 años de la calle Bos, que fue asesinada en este lugar del bosque el 16 de junio de 1738. Sobre este asesinato circulan diversas historias.
Jean Baptist Van Loo, párroco de Opbrakel a finales del siglo XIX, escribió en sus mezclas de Opbrakel: Según la tradición popular, este horror sería obra de un jinete que, llevado por un impulso vil, habría atacado a la hija mientras ella estaba segando hierba. Aunque era conocido, el autor, al evadir el encuentro, logró eludir la justicia. Una cruz de madera aún muestra el lugar donde ocurrió la travesura.
