De Kerbsche Berg is een kleine verhoging in het Unstruttal aan de Kreisstraße K 220 tussen Dingelstädt en Kefferhausen en verheft zich slechts ongeveer 20 meter boven het dal. Hij ligt aan de oostflank van het Oberen Eichsfeld aan de overgang naar het in het noorden gelegen Dün. Westelijk loopt de voormalige spoorlijn Leinefelde–Treysa met een viaduct boven de Kefferhäuser Straße, zuidelijk aan de Unstrut bevindt zich de Kerbsche Mühle.
De Kerbsche Berg heette oorspronkelijk Kirchbergischer Berg en verwijst naar een oude kerk op de berg. Door de eeuwen heen wordt de berg in de akten vermeld met vaak wisselende schrijfwijzen. Door verschillende aanpassingen en weglating van lettergrepen binnen het Thüringse dialectgebied is de vandaag de dag gebruikelijke benaming Kerbscher Berg ontstaan.
