L'església de Nostra Senyora de l'Encarnació va ser construïda després de la reconquesta de Grazalema musulmà (1485) sobre el lloc d'un antic temple mudèjar.
Senzill, d' un blanc brillant i d'una bellesa extraordinària, és el temple del patró de Grazalema, Sant Atanasio , i del nostre Pare Jesús Nazareno, amb un santuari neoclàssic que representa l'Encarnació i la Sagrada Família a l'altar major.
