Du står her ved de omfattende søer i Hamputten, et delområde af naturreservatet Groot Molsbroek. Dette reservat forvaltes af naturforeningen vzw Durme. I længere fryseperioder forbliver det åbne, dybe vand i Hamputten længe ufrosset. Dette gør det til det ideelle overvintringssted for mange vandfugle og dykkergæs, herunder tufted duck. Også de rigeligt beplantede bredder med siv og pil har året rundt (men især i ynglesæsonen) en høj naturværdi.
