Krippehna ligger i trekanten mellem byerne Eilenburg, Bad Düben og Delitzsch. Stedet ligger ikke ved nogen klassificeret vej, men der er lokale forbindelser til Noitzsch, Zschepplin, Naundorf og Wölkau. Gennem stedet flyder en lille biflod til Leine.
Krippehna er i sin bosætningsform en gadegruppeby. Det tilhørte indtil 1815 det kursachsiske hhv. kongeligt saksiske amt Eilenburg. Gennem beslutningerne fra Wienerkongressen kom stedet til Preussen og blev i 1816 tildelt Kreis Delitzsch i regeringsdistriktet Merseburg i provinsen Sachsen, som det hørte til indtil 1952.
