Det Multinationale CIMIC Kommando er den fjerde generation CIMIC i Bundeswehr. Allerede i slutningen af 2001 blev en forgænger-enhed fra kontingenter fra hæren, luftvåbnet og marinen oprettet som en del af de også nyoprettede styrker i Clausewitz-kasernen Nienburg/Weser. Styrken er efter den strukturanpassning, der fandt sted i 2017, omtrent 200 soldater samt civile ansatte. Udover disse personer, der tjenestegør i Nienburg, modtager MN CIMIC Kommando støtte til operationelle formål gennem 81 tjenestestillinger, som er lokaliseret i 15 landskommandos, fra soldater, der tjener ved Civil-Military Cooperation Centre of Excellence, samt fra tre yderligere tjenestestillinger ved Bundesakademie for befolkningbeskyttelse og civil beskyttelse i Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.
