På den vestlige bred af Amstel ser vi en kolossal kontorbygning. Det var indtil for nogle år siden en hvidskimmelagtig afvigelse, Rivierstaete. Det var en skabelse af Huig Maaskant, arkitekten bag genopbygningen i Rotterdam og ansvarlig for Hilton Hotel i Amsterdam. I 2015 begyndte en årelang renovering, hvor de hvide plastplader blev erstattet med glas. Nu er det trendy transparent og hedder Amsteldok.
