Der Stadtpark wurde in der Zeit von 1928-1929 nach einem Entwurf von Paul Hasaerts angelegt. Er wurde zusammen mit den Gebäuden der Provinztechnischen Schulen (PTS) und der umgebenden Gartenstadt damals als das Gesamtprojekt mit dem Namen ‚Boomsche Beekbosschen Gartenstadt‘ betrachtet.
Im malerischen Garten sieht man Skulpturen der flämischen Künstler George Minne und Ernest Wijnants.
Der nordöstliche Teil des Parks von Boom weist eine landschaftlich-romantische Struktur mit Wegen entlang verschiedener Laubbäume (Sommer-Eiche, Rosskastanie, Trauerweide und Ahorn) auf. Der Bosbeek ist die Lebensader, die durch den Park fließt. Der Freizeitbereich des Parks beherbergt u.a. Sportfelder, einen Spielplatz und einen Spielwald.
