Das Schloss wurde im 17. Jahrhundert erbaut und hat einen sternförmigen Grundriss mit italienischem Einfluss.
Im Inneren befinden sich Pavillons , Kasernen und Reservoirs , ursprünglich für Schießpulver ; später wurde es als Militärgefängnis genutzt .
Heute ist diese Festung in einen großen multifunktionalen Kultur- und Erholungsraum umgewandelt worden , einschließlich permanenter Hallen zur lokalen Geschichte, temporären Ausstellungshallen und Geschäften und Kunsthandwerkswerkstätten. Auf dem Exerzierplatz des Schlosses finden auch Konzerte und Sommeraktivitäten statt.
