Nirgendwo ist die Hansegeschichte so spürbar wie in Elburg. Das hat alles mit der Nähe des Hafenbeckens zu tun, an dem einst zahlreiche Schiffe ankerten. Bis 1932 war dies ein wichtiger Hafen an der Zuiderzee, doch dieser ist durch Eindeichung verschwunden. Heute ist der Hafen von Elburg eine touristische Attraktion. Dort liegen Holzboote, die mit Touristen an Bord rundfahren.
